One summer when we were playing under the water tower while the bigger boys climb the ladder all the way to the top of it, a huge wind storm came up and blew one of the guys hat off of his head. I can recall looking up, and seeing the dark clouds forming, then as the boys came climbing down the ladder; they mentioned something about a man who lived inside the water tower. They said his name was the "Wheel -o- Man" and that he must be angry because he caused this storm to come up all of the sudden.
I mean; when it comes to weather, you can't fight it. You can't shoot it. You can't hide from it. And you can't run away from it. However; the one thing that I realized as I got older and wiser was that you could learn to respect the author of it. When I was a young boy growing up in Kingstreet S.C. If a storm ever came up, If it thundered one time. If we thought we saw lightening, everything in the house had to be turned off. And we had to sit quietly until the storm was over. We feared the storm and the author of it. Now a days, If a storm comes up, we turn the t.v. up louder so that the thunder wont drown out our favorite t.v. show.
If the lights flicker, or go out, we verbally chastise God in our minds. The tides have changed. The respect is lost, the severe weather must increase. Minister Farrakhan warned us to watch the weather. I pray to heed the warning, watch the weather, respect Gods power, and teach as many as will listen to do the same.
