One summer when we were playing under the water tower while the bigger boys climb the ladder all the way to the top of it, a huge wind storm came up and blew one of the guys hat off of his head. I can recall looking up, and seeing the dark clouds forming, then as the boys came climbing down the ladder; they mentioned something about a man who lived inside the water tower. They said his name was the "Wheel -o- Man" and that he must be angry because he caused this storm to come up all of the sudden.
I'll tell you the God's Honest Truth, I've always been respectful of the weather. what I really wanted to say is that I have always been "Afraid" of the weather. When I was a little boy growing up in Kingstreet S.C., we lived near this big water tower that would sometimes overflow with water pouring out of it like a huge water fall. We looked forward to the water overflow, especially during the summer time when it was hot and muggy.
